Sarlat

Sarlat-la-Canéda , more commonly known as Sarlat, is a medieval town and the capital of the Périgord Noir. It is located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, and more precisely in the pretty department of Dordogne, on the edge of the Causses du Quercy.
Its history dates back to the Middle Ages and offers you an exceptional heritage. It is one of the most beautiful cities in France, with no fewer than 66 listed monuments : Convent of the Order of Notre-Dame, Old Church of Sainte-Marie, Town Hall, etc.

If you only have a short time, a day can be enough to discover the eve by strolling through its alleys. Guided tours are also available from the Sarlat Tourist Office.
